Type of furan resin


A polycondensation product obtained by homopolymerization of furfural or sterol itself or copolycondensation with other monomers is conventionally referred to as a furan resin. (1) Furfural phenol resin. Furfural can be polycondensed with phenol to form a second-order thermosetting resin, and the polycondensation reaction generally uses a basic catalyst. Commonly used basic catalysts are hydroxides of sodium hydroxide, potassium carbonate or alkaline earth metals.chemical raw material, The main feature of furfural phenol resin is its long flow time at a given cure speed, which makes it suitable for use as a molding compound. The heat-resistance of the molded product is better than that of the phenolic resin, and the use temperature can be increased by 10 to 20 ° C, and the dimensional stability and electrical properties are also good.


(2) Furfural acetone resin. Furfural and acetone are subjected to condensation reaction under alkaline conditions to form an indolone monomer, which can be further polycondensed with formaldehyde under acidic conditions, and the indolone monomers are linked by methine bonds to form furfural acetone resin.


(3) sterol resin. Sterols are easily polycondensed into resins under acidic conditions. It is generally believed that during the polycondensation process, the methylol group in the sterol molecule can be condensed with the α hydrogen atom in the other molecule to form a methine bond, and the condensed product still has a methylol group, which can continue the polycondensation reaction. A linear polycondensation product sterol resin is formed.


Furan resin properties and applications


The uncured furan resin has good miscibility with many thermoplastic and thermosetting resins and can therefore be modified by mixing with epoxy resins or phenolic resins. The cured furan resin is resistant to strong acids (except for strong oxidizing nitric acid and sulfuric acid), strong alkalis and organic solvents, and is stable at high temperatures. pharmaceutical intermediate,Furan resins are mainly used as a variety of chemically resistant and highly turbid materials.

(3) Mixed modification with epoxy resin or phenolic resin The furan resin is mixed with epoxy resin or phenolic resin to improve the mechanical properties of the furan glass fiber reinforced composite material and the process performance during preparation. Such composite materials have been widely used in the preparation of chemical equipment such as mixing devices, storage tanks and pipelines.
